Monitoring systems
OPMS

On large carrier aircraft, the pressure gauge for measuring the hydraulic fluid pressure in the shock absorber circuit may be situated very high up in the landing gear, making it extremely difficult to read.

Based on the same principle as the BTMS, Messier-Bugatti now offers an "Oleo-Pressure Monitoring System" (OPMS) which takes the measurements locally and then sends them to the cockpit via a computer. Messier-Bugatti has added a self compensating hydraulic fluid temperature probe to the pressure sensor, allowing two pieces of information to be brought the pilot’s attention simultaneously. The OPMS has also been chosen for the A380.
