Monitoring systems

Strategy

Part of twofold approach involving continuous development and innovation, the solutions proposed by Messier-Bugatti fit into an overall landing gear monitoring strategy, aiming at measuring and monitoring all the vital parameters related to taxiing, taking off, landing and braking from the cockpit.

Among these parameters are tyre pressure, brake temperature, and the hydraulic pressure in the shock absorbers, the respective measurements of which each present a different set of problems. For each one, Messier-Bugatti offers a perfectly adapted system, respectively: the TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), the BTMS (Brake Temperature Monitoring System) and the OPMS (Oleo Pressure Monitoring System).

The purpose of the equipment is to carry out the required measurements locally and transmit the information to the cockpit where it is displayed for the crew on a special landing gear dedicated screen. Abnormal measurements on any of these parameters will trigger alarms on the instrument panel allowing the pilot to take any necessary measures: special procedures, early maintenance operations etc.

From the point of view of the airline company, one of the principal causes of delayed flights is the stop-over checks on landing gear equipment. Messier-Bugatti monitoring systems save precious minutes on turnaround times, the loss of which when added together quickly become lower aircraft profitability and simultaneously higher operating costs.
